Millennium
3000 is a classroom management system.
The purpose of this product is to give more teachers more time with
students instead of doing paperwork.
Millennium 3000 is broken down into two product categories. The first is category is called, ‘Teacher
Station’. The second is called the
‘Student Station’. The teacher station
includes three different products. The
three products are titled SchedulTech, Test Maker and Technology Tracker. SchedulTech is a product that schedules
students in a class to modules within the class. Test Maker allows teachers to create, edit and modify different
types of tests. Finally, there is
Technology Tracker. Technology Tracker
is a real time classroom monitor that is bundled in with a gradebook. The student station uses two products. The first product is called ‘Navigator’ and
other product is called ‘Test Taker’.
This product is a multi million-dollar product that I designed, programmed,
documented, distributed and supported.
·
Managed 6
people on a large team project, Experienced Team Leader, Lead Developer,
Planning, Designing, Implementing, Revising, and Documenting projects.
·
Planned and
designed out the entire flow of the system including the database design,
graphical layout, features and other design specs.
·
Databases
that are used in this system were first created using Access and then moved to
SQL Server. The power of SQL allows the
classroom management system the ability to quickly find information that is
needed for its different tasks.
·
Created a
client / server system using IPWorks, a winsock tool, that allows the system to
work on any version of Microsoft NT and any version of Novel network. Included in the management system is the
ability to do screen captures and send it back to the teacher computer, to view
any processes that are running, and lock students out of their computers so the
teacher can lecture. Most of these
features were created using API’s. I am
proficient in API’s, Databases, Active-X, Winsock Communications, XML, SQL and
other technologies. Access and SQL
Server were used to create all of the database structures, which also includes
relationships.
·
Knowledge
of Visual Basic and Access is very extensive.
Designed, programmed and tested the entire management system.
·
Created
Installs for several different programs using Install Shield. I was in charge of creating scripts that
would install software into a variety of operating systems, network drives and non-networked
drives.
·
Created and
maintained the Depco tech support web site using ASP, HTML and FileMaker Pro.
·
Involved in
the design and programming of several different projects at Depco, including
the Interactive Media Guide software.
This software is the cornerstone of where Depco is headed for the next 5
years. Other software design and
programming projects were the Depco Racetrack software, Robot Software and
Navigator LT.
·
Installed
all Windows NT servers. up to their 13th server. Installed firewall, which was CheckPoint
Firewall, and installed several file servers, print server, fax server, e-mail
and web server. Had 120 – 130 computers
on the network with NO known bottlenecks.
